Quick-Pickled Red Onions

Ready for the easiest recipe of your life? Say hello to quick-pickled red onions!


Takes five minutes to prepare and it's ready to eat in an hour. If you have time to let them sit in the fridge for at least two hours - or even overnight - even better!


These babies go good on sooo many things. The perfect taco topper. The perfect addition to any burger. Heck! Serve them on your eggs in the morning.


This is one recipe that's good to have in your arsenal of go-to's.

Quick-Pickled Red Onions

Prep Time: 5 minutes

Cooling Time: 1 hour, 2 hours or overnight

Total Time: 1 hour - 24 hours


INGREDIENTS:


1 red onion, sliced thin

1 cup HOT water

1/4 cup white vinegar

1/4 cup apple cider vinegar

1 Tbsp granulated sugar

1 tsp kosher salt


INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Place sliced onions in a pickling jar - Mason, Ball, etc.

  2. In a separate mixing bowl, whisk together HOT water, vinegar's, sugar and salt. Whisk until sugar and salt are dissolved.

  3. Pour mixture into jar with red onions. Seal the jar with the lid and let stand at room temperature for 20 minutes. Place in fridge and let cool for the next 40 minutes, or for two hours, or overnight!
